With the parking brake set and the van safely on jack stands with the front tires removed.
Use the Unloading tool to release tension on the torsion bars. Remove torsion bar key adjustment bolts, located on the bottom of transmission cross member. Clean the rust, dirt and lightly grease the threads and tip of bolt. Reinstall lifting keys with Unloading tool, keepers & bolts and turn all the way in. lower the van to the ground, putting the load back on the torsion bars. Then turn bolts out equally, lowering to desired ride height.
With the adjustment bolt removed, slide out keeper.
Now you can slide the torsion bar forward and replace the key.
Sometimes you need to pound on the side of the torsion bar to loosen up the rust, so that the bar will slide forward out of the old key and lower control arm.

Shock extension installed.
Discard old U-bolts and clean all mating surfaces.
It may be necessary to use a ratchet strap to pull the axle forward or back to get the center bolt lined up with the spring.
Torque U-bolts from 65 to 75 ft-lbs.
Alignment Spec.
Caster (degrees) Left 2 Right 2.5
Camber (degrees) Left 0 Right -1/4 .25
Toe 1/32 - .03125 Inch toe in.
