Toyota sienna - CV axle guide
Over the years we have been manufacturing lift kits for Toyota Sienna vans we have noticed that there have been issues with CV Axles. Now the issue isn't that the lift kit puts the CV axle at an extreme angle because in all reality it does not. It is that aftermarket CV axles come with a slug bearing rather than a gimbled bearing.
This is an example of what is happening inside the aftermarket CV Axle that does not have a Gimbaled Roller Bearing.
This is the major difference between the two different versions of the CV Axles. Now with that said we do recommend using only OEM CV Axles. Below are images detailing the differences between OEM and Aftermarket. We purchased as many aftermarket CV Axels as we could to inspect and the results were that every aftermarket axle we purchased had a slug bearing rather than a gimbaled bearing.
